| PEACE ARCH (Washington-British Columbia) CAT SHOW PROGRAM
- 1982
Who would keep a program from a cat show held twenty years ago between Washington State, USA, and British Columbia, Canada? I guess no one but the scratchboard artist who illustrated the cover. (That's me.) However, maybe someone out there who loves, breeds and shows cats, or was a member of the Peace Arch Cat Fanciers organization, or who remembers the DOUBLE TAKE Show held November 13 & 14 of 1982, would like to have it as a souvenir. Maybe you? This old 1982 8-1/2 by 11-inch program is really in good shape, a little soiled on the back cover from hanging around all these years, but without any kind of damage. (And the front cover is GREAT!) $7.95. Ins. Media Mail shipping $2.50. (2731) |
| EARTHTONE MAGAZINE Autumn 1982
Back in the late seventies and early eighties the "bible" of folks leaving the cities to "return to the land," was the bimonthly issue of EARTHTONE Magazine "For People Tuned To The Earth". It featured articles on how to build a woodstove, raise rabbits, make tea from wild plants, and so on, and those of us foolish enough to have taken this ill-considered step swore by it. One of the feature articles in this September/October issue No. 22 is entitled OF COWS AND COWARDS, about city fellers trying to cope with country living. It's a pretty funny story (though it didn't seem all that funny when it was happening to the author, me.) Maybe it will bring you some chuckles -- as well as some useful information (in the OTHER articles, that is.) The magazine is in really good shape, with age having started to yellow its pages and its old mailing label still in place, but there's no damage to covers or pages. Hope you enjoy it. $7.95. Ins. Media Mail shipping $3.00. (2734) |
| PRINTERS' INK, March 1967 Account Executives, or AEs as we were called back in the late 1960s, have a strange and constantly changing job, and I was thinking about this one night after hours, and started jotting down my thoughts. I left the page lying on my desk, and forgot all about it. A couple of months later, someone left the newest issue of PRINTERS' INK (then the bible of the Industrial Advertising industry) on my desk, and I picked it up and turned to the last page, called AFTER HOURS, which everyone always read first. To my amazement, there was my article, by-line and all, which my boss had found and submitted to the magazine! So, that's why I've kept a single issue of an old advertising and marketing management magazine around for 34 years. This March 24, 1967 issue of PRINTERS' INK is in really good shape for its years, with a little shelf wear and yellowing pages, its mailing label still in place, but no torn pages or other damage. Maybe you'll enjoy reading it and seeing what the advertising field was like all those years ago. $7.95. Ins. Media Mail shipping $2.50. (2733) |
