SOLD  Japanese BLACK CHOKIN TEMPLE  JAR
This gleaming black Ginger Jar is decorated with the metallic Chokin technique once used to enhance Samurai swords. The silver background makes an attractive setting for two water birds, a branch of leaves, and graceful reeds, rendered in gold, copper and silver. The picture is bordered with a gold band, which is repeated on the rim of the cover and the top of the cover's handle. 
Temple Jars in much larger sizes were used to ship spices, tea, and oils from Asia in the days of sailing ships, because of their tightly-fitting covers.  The  Chokin Ginger Jar stands 4-1/2 inches high with its cover in place, and about 3 inches in diameter at its widest point. Its base is marked FINE CHINA - JAPAN, along with some oriental characters. Both Ginger Jar and cover are completely free of damage.

Charming Porcelain MINI-LAMP CANDLE HOLDER

While it looks like a delicate bisque-finish porcelain lamp with shade, this is actually a two-piece votive candle holder, and comes complete with candle.  The blue flowers on the shade are three-dimensional, and the blue and white trim on lamp base and shade is in bas-relief.   The delicate little candle holder stands 4-1/2 inches tall and is completely damage free.  A pretty accent for any room.

MANCHESTER Porcelain SHELL DISH - BUTTERFLIES

This colorful lttle shell-shaped porcelain bowl features a cheerful painting of
butterflies on leaves and flowers in its bowl, the sides of which are fluted in a Swirl pattern. 

The pretty bowl is 4-1/2" x 4-1/2" at its largest dimesions and stands 1=1/2" high. It is in NEW condition, still in its original box and packaging, removed only for the photo. It is stamped GENUINE PORCELAIN on the bottom.

This lovely porcelain bud vase by Yamaji, Japan, is a treat for the eye with its hand-painted lavendar and pink lily-like blossoms and green leaves. The elegantly simple design complements the painting and is set off with a gold rim.  My brother brought this back from Japan some forty years ago.   The delicate vase is 7-1/2 inches high and in damage-free condition. Its credentials are stamped on its bottom in Japanese symbols.
